Aim High!

by George Ambler on November 30, 2008

“The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.” - Michelangelo

This quote by Michelangelo is still true today. Many of us seem aim too low! One person who believes it’s necessary to aim high was Victor Frankl, who believed that man’s primary motivator in life is his need for meaning. In the video below Victor Frankl makes the following statement:

“If we take man as he is we make him worse, but….if we over estimate man….. we promote him to what he really can be. If you don’t recognize…. man’s search for meaning, you make him worse you make him dull, you make him frustrated…  ”

Meaning requires us to commit ourselves to a cause that makes a different in the world, it requires us to make a dent in the universe! Greatness is pulled from us when we commit to great vision and purpose.

  • Have you committed yourselves to a great vision and purpose?
  • Are you aiming too low?
