The 2 main takeouts of interest for me are:

1: Influence - leadership is all about influence, and you don&#039;t need formal authority to positively influence others. You need to earn the respect of others - your boss, peers and workers alike - through your actions .

2: The perspective of the people you’re trying to influence - developing an in-depth understanding of the competence (skills) and perspective (what&#039;s important to them) of the people you are influencing, regardless of their position/level, allows you to ethically tap into what makes them tick.
