Well done! I think about those laws now whenever I make decisions on hiring people. One other thing which I belive as a supposed 'leader' is how much the people around me are affected by me. Someone at work sent me this 2 minute 'self analysis' test which shows what kind of leader you are. The tips it gave me is something else I think about what hiring people. Here it is: http://www.theidfactor.com/connectedleader.php

I found this book to be very easy to read and the short stories really helped bring the Laws to life. Especially if you are a sports enthusiast or a Civil War buff.

[...] The more I read about leadership and as I observe leaders in organisations I’ve come to believe the Russian proverb that “A fish rots from the head.” as true and found that it applies to organisations. An organisation is the shadow of the top leader. An organisation and a team is only as successful as it’s leader. John Maxwell calls this “The Law of the Lid“, which states that: “Leadership ability determines a person’s level of effectiveness…… Leadership ability is always the lid on personal and organisational effectiveness.” [...]

Awesome review George. I too love this book, and think about these laws often when I think about making hiring decisions and in who I choose to invest my time in. Well done!
